Volkswagen Formula XL1 Concept . Far more production-ready than the company's past one-liter efforts, the XL1 is powered by a hybrid two cylinder TDI engine and electric motor/lithium ion battery pairing, and features a seven-speed dual clutch DSG transmission, side-by-side seating, wing-style doors, carbon fibre reinforced polymer parts throughout the body, and the ability to go around 20 miles without needing any gas at all. We're just hoping the design gets a little more work, as the futuristic-as-of-1983 styling isn't really doing it for us.
