2017 Chevy Impala – redesign of a cult flagship sedan

The redesigned Impala is not all new for 2017, but why would you change something so successful?
The 2017 model will be the tenth generation of this iconic vehicle, and with 169,000 units sold in just one year (2012), this is one of the most popular full-size sedans in the U.S.

Chevrolet is trying to increase the market share for the Impala, it plans to do this by offering a wider variety of engines; two 4-cylinder engines and the flagship (& exclusive) 3.6 liter V6.
The ecotec 2.4 liter 4-cylinder comes with eAssist and Chevrolet say that gas consumption should be around the 35 MPG mark when driving on the highway.
Chevrolet take safety very seriously, for this reason, you’ll find anti-collision systems, rear camera, park-assist, adaptive cruise control, lane guidance and ten airbags all fitted as standard equipment,

Volvo S90 Excellence's Lounge Console

The Lounge Console doubles as a mobile work station and entertainment center with a large touchscreen display built in it. The sumptuous arrangement offers a heated and cooled cup holder, a refrigerator, and Swedish-made Orrefors crystal glasses. The front passenger seat is eliminated to make room for all of this. Overhead, the roof offers a full panoramic view.

The S90 Excellence was shown ahead of the Guangzhou Motor Show, which will be held in late November. It will be built in Daqing near Harbin. The sole engine option will be the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid version. Volvo showed previous Lounge Console concepts at the Beijing and Shanghai motor shows.

Volvo says the Excellence will be exported globally from the Northeastern China factory, following the S60 Inscription model which is also built there and sold in the United States. US implications are unclear for the S90 Excellence. A Volvo spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"China will play an increasingly important part in our global manufacturing ambitions. Our factories here will deliver world-class products for export across the globe in coming years, contributing to our objective of selling up to 800,000 cars a year by 2020," Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson said in a statement.

2017 Lincoln Continental pricing undercuts Cadillac CT6

Base model starts at $45,485, 400-hp Black Label priced at $69,105.
At the top of the pile, Lincoln offers its Black Label models, and well, we’ll just let you bask in their words for a moment: “Lincoln Black Label is a curated collection of luxury designer themes combined with a personalized client experience and membership privileges.” It’s as if American Express opened an artisanal airport brewpub! The salient cash-money outlays are as follows: a 2.7 FWD car will run $63,840, adding AWD predictably ticks the clock up to $65,840, while the full-boat 3.0 AWD models start at $69,105. For the $9000 price premium over Reserve models, the wheels gain an inch in diameter, the headlamps go LED, a 19-speaker Revel Ultima sound system is standard, and you get a floormat upgrade involving faux-suede trim and Black Label badging. Opt for the Luxury package on the Reserve models, and you’ll snare the fancy hi-fi and headlights for only a $5000 surcharge. So what else does Black Label give you over Reserve?
Floormats and dubs aside, the Black Label offers “ultra-soft Venetian leathers” as part of three interior treatments. The wintry-mix Chalet interior is supposed to remind one of “the inherent comfort of the après ski lodge,” while Rhapsody hopes to evoke the feeling of music. With its aluminized silver mesh and deep navy materials, we find it more reminiscent of the halcyon days of mid-20th-century air travel. Presumably, the earth-toned Thoroughbred will be stabled at domiciles decorated exclusively with items from the Ralph Lauren Home collection. Beyond the fancy interior treatments, membership in the Black Label society will not garner you a one-on-one audience with guitarist Zakk Wylde, but it will grant you a dinner for two at one of Lincoln’s Culinary Collection restaurants. Ford’s luxury division also will deliver your new ride directly to you, as long as you’re within 30 miles of a Black Label dealership. Shoppers 35 miles away might consider moving for that privilege. They’ll also fix you up with complimentary anytime car washes and a once-a-year detailing. Too busy to visit the Lincoln store? The “Shopping Concierge” will bring a “mobile showroom” to you.

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Makes U.S. Debut

The era of plugins is upon us. Although customers may not exactly be beating down dealers’ doors for them, looming EPA fuel economy standards are forcing automakers to build them to be nominally compliant with the regulations. For those customers that see the value in the concept and don’t have a lavish budget to spend on something like the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine, Mitsubishi will offer its popular Outlander midsize crossover with a plug-in option in the U.S. market for the 2017 model year.
The system consists of a 2.0L I-4 gas engine paired with two electric motors, one at each axle. The system will automatically switch between three drive modes depending on state of charge and driving conditions: full EV, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid. Providing power to the PHEV system is a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. For comparison, a Chevy Volt’s pack is 18.4 kWh. Mitsubishi promises a “high” electric range and an excellent mpg rating. Neither figure was officially
The usual suite of safety features will be available on the Outlander PHEV, including around-view camera, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability will also be baked in. The Outlander PHEV will be in Mitsubishi showrooms starting in fall 2016.

2017 Aston Martin Vanquish

We start with the bad news: As previously reported, Aston Martin’s glorious-sounding naturally aspirated V-12 engine won’t be making the transition to the new DB11. The engine that has powered all of the company’s larger products since 2003, and was essentially two Ford Duratec V-6s joined at the crank, is soon to be retired and we will not hear its heavenly wail again. Black armbands will be issued.
Let’s cheer ourselves up by skipping straight to the better news, namely that the DB11has resisted the trend of reduced cylinder count and is keeping a V-12, in this case a new twin-turbocharged unit that Aston has developed itself. (We’ll have to wait until the replacement for the smaller Vantage to meet the first AMG-powered Aston.) The new 5.2-liter V-12 shares bore centers with the old 5.9-liter engine and will be built at Aston’s engine plant in Cologne, but everything else about it is claimed to be new. We suspect that the engine’s 600 horsepower—60 more than the DB9 GT—will help most potential buyers move on quickly from the pain of losing the old naturally aspirated engine. It also produces 516 lb-ft of torque, available from 1500 rpm to 5000 rpm. By contrast, the DB9’s max of 457 lb-ft arrived at a lofty 5500 rpm.

2016 Cadillac Eldorado Changes and Review

This model was first introduced in 1952 and was in the production for fifty years. Eleven generations later, the production ended in 2002. Now this historic vehicle is back. For all the admirers of one of the Cadillac’s favorite models, the long wait will definitely be worth it. 2016 Cadillac Eldorado will undergo a lot of changes that will make interior and exterior of this model better than ever before. When it comes to the design of the new Eldorado, it is still hard to predict the specific aspects. We will probably see a combination of two fashion languages: Ciel and Elmiraj. This means that we will see a lot of modern elements, but the model will still stay true to its classic roots. The elegant and stylish design will be continued to the interior. The cabin will feature a lot of high quality materials including camel-colored leather, backlit titanium strips and hand-carved Brazilian rosewood. Next to the great looks and high level of comfort, new model will also be equipped with latest technological and safety features. This will make the new Eldorado more user-friendly and make the overall driving experience more enjoyable.

2017 Lexus LC 500: A Jaw-Dropping 467-hp Luxury Coupe

At the LC 500 unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show, Lexus Chief Branding Officer and Master Driver Akio Toyoda kicked off his remarks by reading a list of descriptions of Lexus from the motoring press. Words like "boring" and "bland" were featured. With the LC 500, Toyoda hopes to abolish that impression entirely.
Powered by the same naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 found in the RC F and the GS F, the new LC 500 wears styling that's shockingly similar to the original concept car. That swoopy body rests on an all-new, rear-wheel-drive platform dubbed GA-L. Lexus says it prioritized a low center of gravity and excellent weight distribution in this first iteration of the chassis, which along with aluminum, carbon-fiber, and composite bodywork, provides the LC 500 with a 52/48 front/rear weight distribution
The LC 500's 467 horses and 389 lb.-ft. of torque are sent through an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. Six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers counteract a claimed 0-60 sprint of "less than 4.5 seconds."

Hyundai planning pure electric Genesis model

The market for luxury EVs is set to grow bigger by at least one model. The latest is set to come from Genesis, the new luxury brand launched by Hyundai.
The news, according to Reuters, was revealed by the brand's chief executive Manfred Fitzgerald at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea. "We will definitely go as Genesis brand down the road of alternative propulsions and it is very, very obvious that EV is definitely on the map," said Fitzgerald "I think full electric cars will be the future in the auto industry."
The executive stopped short of providing further details or a timeline for the EV's eventual launch, however it's not the first alternative powertrain the brand will offer. The G80 (pictured) is set to gain a diesel version to join the existing gasoline model, aimed principally at the vital European market that Genesis' key rivals call home.
The electric Genesis would join a growing field of luxury EVs. Faraday Future is taking aim at Tesla, German automakers like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche are expected to launch upscale electric vehicles – and others are likely to follow.
Fitzgerald recently signed on as Senior Vice President at the Hyundai group to oversee the Genesis brand, having previously served as branding chief at Lamborghini. He is one of a number of Westerners recruited by Hyundai's vice chairman and heir apparent Chung Eui-sun, the impetus for the upscale brand's launch, alongside the likes of designer Luc Donckerwolke and performance engineer Albert Biermann.

Toyota Prius V

Blending the usefulness of a station wagon and the fuel economy of a hybrid, the Prius V might be the ultimate utility vehicle. With the rear seats folded, it offers 67 cubic feet of cargo space—more than some SUVs. Drive it with the lightest of right feet and you might see as much as 44 mpg in the city. The downside: The Prius V lacks any semblance of driving dynamics. Instead, they are replaced with the sleep-inducing attributes you might expect from such an appliance.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-class

The GLA250 cute-ute has CLA250 roots: it’s basically the lifted version of the CLA250 sedan. Like the CLA, the GLA sports the 208-hp 2.0-liter turbo four and 258 lb-ft with front-drive and a seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is optional. The GLA’s cabin design, finishes, and features echo the CLA, but the back seat here is more realistic, as is cargo flexibility. Steering feedback is minimal, but the GLA is fun around town and feels more nimble than the CLA sedan.

The 488 GTB and 488 Spider continue that tradition, powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 660 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque combined with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The Spider’s power-retractable hardtop operates in 14 seconds, with two panels stowed behind the seats. The electric glass rear window can be placed in three different positions with the top up or down. The 488 accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 8.7 seconds with a top speed over 200 mph. Leaked images show Chinese electric supercar

There's a new wave of electric supercars coming, and the Chinese are poised to join the party next. the Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation is set to reveal its super-EV at its home auto show later this month.
Depicted in these supposedly leaked images, BAIC's forthcoming electric supercar is slated to take on rivals from the likes of Faraday Future, Rimac, and Koenigsegg. It's anticipated to be about the same size as a Ferrari 488 GTB, albeit slightly wider and taller. But the real difference will be in the powertrain, precise details of which remain a secret at the moment.
Whatever combination of electric motors and batteries it packs, the electric supercar is anticipated to reach 62 in under 3.0 seconds, top out at over 160 miles per hour, and travel for up to 186 miles on a single charge. It's also tipped to incorporate three driving modes that will alter the car's ride height according to the level of performance dialed in.

Tesla Reveals Highly-Anticipated Model 3

The Model 3 should go into production at the end of 2017, with a production target of 500,000 vehicles per year, according to Tesla. Fair warning though — Tesla has missed planned production dates in the past, so it won’t be much of a surprise if the Model 3 isn’t rolling on roads until sometime in 2018.

“Affordable” Tesla

We’ve been hearing about an upcoming new, affordable Tesla for several years — and here it is. The Tesla Model 3 is an electric midsize 5-passenger sedan with a starting price of $35,000 before incentives. By comparison, the current Tesla model range — the Model S and Model X — start in the high $70,000 range and increase from there.

Tesla Model S P90D

The only company on this list that wasn't around during the muscle car's heyday comes out and makes not just the quickest accelerating American sedan, but the quickest sedan ever. The P90D runs 0-60 in a fairly mind-warping 2.8 seconds and the quarter mile comes in 11.1 seconds. Thank the P90D's instantaneous torque delivery and trick all-wheel-drive system for its stoplight racing dominance.

Dodge Charger Hellcat

Despite a relative lack of tire relative to its horsepower, 707-hp is always going to be fast on the dragstrip. The Charger Hellcat can't hope to be as quick off the line as the all-wheel-drive Model S P90D, but its 3.4 second sprint to 60 is still incredibly impressive. All of this in a car that when optioned right, looks like a cop car.

Cadillac CTS-V

For its ultimate sedan, Cadillac grabbed the Corvette Z06's supercharged V8 off the shelf to tell Europe where to stick it. With 640-hp, the CTS-V rips to 60 in 3.6 seconds and runs a quarter mile in the high 11s. As its down on power to the Charger Hellcat, it's a bit slower, but you'd be hard pressed to notice.

Cadillac ATS-V

The ATS-V isn't so much a dragstrip car as it is a corner carver, but it's 464-hp twin-turbo V6 still generates impressive numbers. With the 8-speed automatic, it'll run 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.1. If you go for the 6-speed manual, times won't suffer too much, since the ATS-V lets drivers shift without letting off the gas.

Chevrolet SS

In a world of fast Cadillacs, Hellcats and ludicrous Teslas, Chevy's old SS tends to get forgotten. It's 415-hp LS3 V8 may be relatively old, but it more than gets the job done with an honest 4.6 seconds to 60 and a quarter mile in 13 seconds dead. All of this in one of the most subtle looking cars on the list makes for quite an appealing package.

Cadillac CT6 Twin Turbo

The CT6 will eventually get a V8, but the new twin-turbo V6 it launches with generates impressive numbers for what isn't exactly a performance car. Its 404-hp is good for a 5.1 second 0-60 run and 13.6 second quarter mile. The V8 should be pretty quick, then.

Cadillac XTS Twin Turbo

The XTS is Cadillac's last nod towards its old (interpret "old" however you like) customer base. It's a far cry from the CTS-V, or even the new CT6, but with Cadillac's familiar twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 it's still a quick car. From a stop, 60 mph comes in 5.2 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.6, beating the Taurus SHO by just 0.2 seconds.

Ford Taurus SHO

Ford's fast Taurus isn't quite the performance car it once was, but it still earns a spot on this list with a 5.2 second run to 60. That's thanks to its 365-hp EcoBoost V6. We're excited for Ford's new Fusion V6 Sport , which will make similar horsepower in a smaller, lighter package.

Chrysler 300 V8

As part of Fiat Chrysler's massive rebranding, Chrysler no longer gets all-out performance models. If you want a crazy car on this platform, get a Charger Scat Pack or Hellcat, but the V8-powered 300 is still plenty respectable. With 363-hp and an 8-speed automatic, the 300 V8 runs 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.9.

Chrysler 200 V6 AWD

While not a true sports sedan, the all-wheel-drive V6 Chrysler 200 isn't exactly a slouch between the stoplights. This 295-hp 200 hits 60 mph in 6.0 seconds, though its weight of over 3800 lbs holds it back somewhat.

Chevrolet Impala V6

Even though it lacks an "SS" badge, the most powerful Impala is good enough to earn a spot on this list. Its V6 makes a little over 300-hp, which helps this front-wheel-drive Impala sprint to 60-mph in an even 6 seconds.

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 Makes American Luxury Relevant Again

The all-new CT6 is a return to those Cadillac ideals, but done in a very smart, innovative, and high-tech way. See, the hallmarks of the modern Cadillac renaissance, the CTS and ATS and their V variants, may be fantastic choices, but they’re ones that follow a script distinctly written by German automakers. German sizes, German expectations of performance. BMWs and Benzes by way of Detroit. (Or New York.)
The CT6 seems to be an attempt to be refreshingly American. It’s the most Cadillac Cadillac sedan to come along in forever. It definitely falls more on the “comfort” side of luxury. No more becoming Germans in order to fight them. This is Cadillac doing Cadillac. It’s even built in Hamtramck, Michigan. (Also China, later, and the hybrid version made there will make it to our shores too.)

It’s also not the Seville you drove in college because you inherited it from your dead grandpa. It’s so far from that they almost don’t deserve the same badge.

2018 Lincoln Navigator previewed with dramatic gull-winged concept

Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln has unveiled a preview for its next-generation Navigator large SUV at the 2016 New York motor show.
With gullwing doors and deployable concertina steps that invite passengers to climb aboard, the Navigator concept is not your conventional luxury SUV.
The all-new Lincoln Navigator concept introduces what the brand calls ‘quiet luxury’ to its full-size SUV, intended to represent a vehicle and an experience that is “elegant, effortlessly powerful and serene”.
